Grammy Schmammy

To call last night the "Grammy" Awards would be like calling Ke$ha a talented musician.   First of all it’s an awards show, not a concert featuring today’s “talented” musicians.  From the opening tribute to Aretha which probably brought her to tears(and not the good kind) to Arcade Fire it was just one bad performance after another.)

Miranda Lambert - besides her fiancé who else would actually recognize her as a performer.  Lady Gaga - I do like her, but stop pretending to be Madonna.  You will never be Madonna so just stop.  And don’t rip off her songs either - be original (Born this Way is Express Yourself 2011).  Mick Jagger- you need the Stones to be great.   And Muse and Arcade Fire- we could have done without you guys.  Finally Cee Lo Green- Elton John is going to sue you over your Muppet Show routine. And lastly Christina Aguilera- you did not redeem yourself.  Messing up the national anthem at the Super Bowl will be how you are always remembered and last night in the words of Randy Jackson “ You were pitchy Dawg”.

The best performance of the night was Marshall Mathers and friends (Eminem, Rihanna, Dr. Dre) It’s a shame they didn’t save it for the end though.  And Bob Dylan- still a musical g-d.  Untalented musicians like Justin Beiber and anything Will Smith produces (yes Will- I have more talent in my fingernail then your kids have in their bodies COMBINED) shouldn’t even be in the same country as Dylan- so Beiber take your friends to Canada then.

Lastly how can you call it an awards show when you only give out 3 awards?  Ok it ended up being 7 but half of those were country awards; don’t they have a separate award show for that….  Yes they do it’s called the American COUNTRY Music Awards.  I had to look up who won most of the awards.

It is time for the Grammy’s to stop catering to the MTV generation and be like an actual awards show.  More awards and fewer performances- or if you’re going to have a performance fest how about some talented performers.  Paul McCartney is always available…
